Employment Security/Joblink Career Center

This government agency has tools to identify the best career for you!

Self Assessment helps individuals discover interests, skills, personality traits and values that relate to career and life plans.

Career Exploration includes researching information about job descriptions and requirements, salary and working conditions, education and training requirements and the labor market, including demographics as well as industrial and occupational trends.

Job Search Techniques provides individuals with effective interviewing, resume writing, and other career management tools.

Goodwill Career Connections

Goodwill’s Career Connections Centers offer free, personalized services to aid in your job search. Services include resume/cover letter/application assistance, skills assessment, career counseling, access to computers and high-speed internet, help with interviewing skills and placement services. Hours are Monday 8-5 pm.

R3 Career Center

Rowan-Cabarrus Community College's R3 Center is an adult (18 years+) career development center and is located in downtown Kannapolis. R3 re-focuses, re-trains and re-employs people who are under or unemployed by assessing and profiling skills, aptitudes, training and academic credentials, identifying future career interests and mapping out a plan for career growth. R3 sponsors an ongoing selection of workshops, seminars and individual counseling as part of their career development services. All R3 Center services are free of charge.

Rowan Salisbury High School Career Development Counselors

The Rowan-Salisbury School System promotes “Career Exploration” by employing a Career Development Counselors (CDC) at each high school.  These nationally career certified counselors work with students at the middle and high school levels.  The CDC places special emphasis on creating a career plan, investigating career interest and coordinating of workforce development contacts for the students they work with. Please contact the CDC at the high school near you for assistance with developing your 

career interest.
